The stopping procedure, the stops are attached to the knife head using magnets so that the magnets touch the knife cylinder and not the knife. Adjust the value shown on the red scale and the black scale on the vernier using the control wheel to the required knife height above the knife roll (either according to the previous knife setting or to the required knife height above the knife roll, which according to the European standard should not exceed 1.1mm for safe manual feed of material), tighten with the copper locking screw. Place the stops thus adjusted on both ends of the knife cylinder above the knife. The magnet will pull the knife to the stops and you will comfortably and securely tighten the planing knife in the knife cylinder in the set position. You repeat the same for the remaining knives in the cylinder. The magnets are strong and hold knives up to 600 mm long.
