Subsidies for other households from New Green Savings

Who can apply for a subsidy

• owners of existing family houses
• owners of terraced housing units (terraced houses)
• owners of existing apartment buildings
• apartment owners' associations of existing apartment buildings
• authorised owners of residential units
• contributory organisations established by local authorities
• the owners of housing units may also apply for the replacement of a solid fuel heater individually

What the subsidy can be used for

• for the replacement of a solid fuel boiler that does not meet emission classes 3, 4 and 5 with a new environmentally friendly source
• for the replacement of local solid fuel heaters serving as the main source of heat for heating
• the replacement of electric heating with an electrically driven heat pump system

Replacement of old gas boilers with a heat pump is also supported from autumn 2023

Supported source types

• Biomass boilers incl. storage tank / with automatic fuel delivery (min. energy class A+, for boilers with manual fuel delivery installation of a storage tank is mandatory)
• local biomass sources (radiant and hot air: class A+, with hot water heat exchanger: class A++)
• heat pumps for hot water heating system (min. energy class A++)
• air-to-air heat pumps (min. energy class in heating mode A++)
• heat pumps for hot water heating system with hot water connected to a PV system
• connection to the heat supply system
• Combined heat and power generation - only for residential buildings

Applicants have a list of products and technologies from which they can choose a new heating source. The list is not compulsory, but if the applicant chooses another source, it must submit documents with the application, such as a certificate or technical data sheet, with specified parameters to prove that it meets the parameters of the scheme.

How much subsidy can be obtained

Support is provided in the form of a subsidy for installations carried out from 1 January 2021 onwards of up to 50% of eligible expenditure, with the following limits:

Eligible expenditure includes: purchase and installation of a new source and associated components, flue modifications, metering and control, connection and modification of the heating system and storage tank and hot water heater.

Acceptance of applications

• Applications will be accepted from October 2021
  
  
• Applications shall be submitted electronically by the applicant or a person authorised by the applicant before, during or after the implementation of the measure via the Agency Information System of the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic. Regional offices of the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic may be used for consultations.

What documents are needed to submit an application

• proof of inspection of the technical condition and operation of the original heat source - the applicant shall prove that the original source meets (met) the boiler class suitable for replacement
• photodocumentation of the existing boiler connected to the heating system and chimney stack

After the replacement has been carried out, the following must be submitted

• accounting documents (invoices and bank statements)
• photo documentation of the newly installed heat source
• proof of installation and commissioning of the source, in the case of renewable energy sources issued by an authorised person
• a flue inspection report in accordance with Decree No 34/2016 on cleaning, inspection and inspection of the flue (if the new heat source is a combustion source)
• an installation report prepared by an authorised person or by a person trained by the manufacturer for the installation of gas boilers
• a certificate of ecological disposal of the old boiler
